The skunk ape also know as Swamp Ape is a large and hairy human-like mythical creature purported to inhabit the forests and swamps in the southeastern United States, most notably in Florida. It is often compared to, synonymous with, or called the "cousin" of Bigfoot, a prominent subject within North American popular culture. The snallygaster was described as half-reptile, half-bird having a metallic beak lined with razor-sharp teeth, occasionally alongside octopus-like tentacles. The snallygaster was rumored to swoop silently from the sky to pick up and carry off its victims Clad in leaves, moss, and grass, with green skin and seaweed in her hair, the legend has it that the Green Lady is a woman who lost her children in the woods and who has spent an eternity looking for them.
