My name is Rick. I live in sunny Florida ☀️ with my beautiful wife JoMarie and two playful Asian Leopard Cats, Tallulah and Madeline.
I am a technical illustrator and an organic abstract artist. My drafting experience began MANY years ago in motorsports: mechanical drawings, blueprints, CNC designs, and Typography.
Today as an abstract artist, I am still dealing with grimy, greasy, dirty 'stuff' - and getting clean can be complicated - until now.
For years I tried multiple products, not giving much thought to how they were made. Just rinsing with water wasn't enough, while harsh chemical cleaners were damaging and unsafe. I found that the most popular brush cleaners are liquid. However, they may be convenient, many contain at least 80% water, and some even include harmful - toxic chemicals and detergents, dangerous for you and the environment.
The proper focus wasn't until I had trouble getting my fine art brushes clean. Sure they weren't 'dirty,' but they weren't 'clean.' I didn't like the option to use petroleum-based thinners or other harsh chemicals. Dip in a can of chemical thinner, swish, rinse, and let dry - just didn't cut it. It trashed my brushes, and I have no idea what it did to the drain.
So, I was on the hunt for a sustainable, eco-friendly product that could meet my needs. Nothing that was synthetic or had any lasting adverse effects. It wasn't long before I discovered this might be almost impossible.
It was now time to try my hand at 'the science of soap.'
I wanted a solid cleaner, so I started by modifying classic soap recipes with natural ingredients, then resourced only sustainable products free from artificial fragrances and preservatives.
After several failed formulas, many slippery messes, and a few sacrificed brushes (both artist and makeup), I never lost sight of the goal to create 'The finest all-natural brush cleaner.'
Why so hard? The requirements were simple - All natural, sustainable ingredients free from artificial fragrances and preservatives.
I compiled an ingredient list that was more like from a farm than a laboratory. A scratch-made formula that met my high standards with performance that exceeded my expectations.
