Meet the Maker
Hello and welcome to my corner of Go Imagine!
After my crisis counselor shifts, I always looked for ways to decompress after my shifts. I found fluid art painting through YouTube and it brought a sense of ease and calm so I could fall asleep. I started dabbling in this art last summer and it has been so fulfilling and joyful, such a release. Friends and family know how important mental health awareness is to me and I wanted to share that through my art. If I can bring joy and peace to anyone with this art that playfully flows across the canvas, that fills my soul.
Thank you for visiting,
Angie
How it’s Made
My flip cup pour painting is a vibrant tribute to Pride 2024, capturing the essence and colors of the bisexual flag. The canvas is alive with dynamic swirls and intricate patterns, showcasing a stunning blend of magenta, lavender, and royal blue. These hues represent the bisexual flag's colors, each symbolizing a unique aspect of the community: magenta for same-gender attraction, royal blue for different-gender attraction, and lavender for the overlap and spectrum of attraction. The painting technique involves carefully pouring layers of paint into a cup, then flipping it onto the canvas to create an explosion of colors and organic shapes. The result is a mesmerizing interplay of colors that blend and flow together, yet remain distinct in places, symbolizing unity in diversity. The bold, fluid movements in the painting reflect the energy and vibrancy of the LGBTQ+ community, while the harmonious blend of colors conveys a message of inclusion and acceptance.
