How it’s Made
This one-of-a-kind junk journal (handmade heirloom book)was made by me, Shirley Kathan-Sayess. It is an 8.5" x 5.5" x 1.75" hard-cover book with 3 sewn-in signatures with 82 Pages [ front and back ]. I used a beautiful batik fabric for the outside cover with digitally created paper on the inside covers. I hand-dyed the lace and vintage saree silk ribbon used to tie it shut.
For the pages I used dyed paper, scrapbook paper, vellum, and digitals printed by me on high quality photo paper.
I used dyed papers, scrapbook paper, photo paper, vellum and specialty paper.
The envelopes, tags, journaling cards, fussy cuts for embellishing were either my own work or created from digital kits I purchased.
