How it all began…
The heartache of losing a beloved pet is profound, but when three cherished companions depart within a span of just two months, the blow is devastating. Felony, a sleek black male Staffy, entered our lives as a legacy of family ties—his lineage traced back to my daughter's faithful dog. From the moment he entered our home, he claimed our hearts with unwavering loyalty and endless antics, solidifying his role as the beloved patriarch among our fur babies. Toffee, a tan female with a mysterious lineage of part Catahoula and part unknown, wandered into our lives one serendipitous day and decided to make our home her own. Despite our efforts to locate her previous owners, it became evident that she had been left behind. Her gentle nature and boundless affection quickly made her an indispensable part of our family. Teddy, a charming tan & white Shih Tzu, arrived with our son's girlfriend, his jovial presence filling every corner of our home with warmth and joy. Always eager to shower affection upon anyone he encountered, Teddy effortlessly wove himself into the fabric of our lives.
Toffee's free spirit led her to wander, despite our best efforts to keep her safe within our home. Tragically, she was struck by a passing car, leaving us reeling from the sudden loss. Just two weeks later, we bid farewell to Felony, as age and illness claimed our cherished friend. And in a cruel twist of fate, Teddy met a similar fate as Toffee, leaving us to mourn the loss of yet another beloved companion. Underneath the protective branches of an ancient oak tree in our yard, we laid them to rest, their memories forever enshrined in our hearts.
When the idea of sublimation blanks for wind spinners crossed my path, inspiration struck. I crafted wind spinners adorned with their photos and names, hanging them in the branches of the oak tree as a tribute to their enduring spirits.
Thus began my journey into the world of sublimation—a realm where creativity knows no bounds. Crafting has always held a special place in my heart, but sublimation adds a new layer of depth and meaning to my passion.
The ability to create personalized keepsakes that speak to the soul, at an affordable price point, fills me with joy. And so, Crafted Keepsakes of Texas was born—a testament to love, loss, and the transformative power of art. As a previously retired grandmother embarking on this new chapter, I am excited to share my creations with the world, one heartfelt gift at a time.
