Good Morning, Afternoon, and Evening! My name is Emily and I am the owner of Bewitching Bathery LLC. I started this small business in 2023 after spending months watching soap videos. I became so engrossed in watching soap videos that I not only learned how to make soap but how the process works on a chemical level. From there it just kinda took over. I've always loved baking and this was similar to me just with different ingredients. OH! And the fact that you can't eat anything from this store....Please don't eat anything you buy from this store ;)

About Me

I grew up in Wisconsin most of my life save a couple of years I lived in Pennsylvania. I grew up in a house with 5 children so it was always noisy and crowded but that just means I have a big family. I've lived in Cornell for a few years but in the Chippewa Valley for about 10 years now and I love this area. I do work full time in manufacturing until I can get my business full time. My life goals are to have my own full time business and to have a small hobby farm. I have always loved animals even as a little kid with my dad bringing home salamanders and stopping to help turtles cross the road. This also means I do have several animals in my own home. I have 2 cats, Milo and Joe, a dog named Chandler, a tortoise named Edith, a rat, and 6 snakes (I love all animals furry or not).

At Bit More About Bewitching Bathery LLC

I'll be honest I am not good at coming up with names. Heck some of my pets still don't have names I'm that bad at it. So it took me a while to find a name for my business that I liked. I had to be super critical knowing this is my brand. I knew right away that I wanted to work with vibrant colors in my products and make some really cool things. While "Bathery" isn't an actual word I think it works for my brand making bath and body products. Everything I make is considered vegan, cruelty free, sulfate free, and phthalate free. While I do have some essential oil soaps I prefer to work with fragrance oils as they are more regulated and predictable with the outcome in soaps. All of the fragrance oils I use come from a local to me business called Midwest Fragrance Company.

Some Cool Things About Bewitching Bathery LLC

Aside from all products being super awesome and being vegan, cruelty free, sulfate free, and phthalate free, I also make everything for sensitive skin. You wouldn't know it right now with my rainbow hair, but I am a natural red head which means I tend to have pretty sensitive skin. If my products don't work for me I don't sell them so you can rest assured the ingredients I choose have to stack up against not only my sensitive skin, but my siblings as well with their sun damage and eczema. The ingredients I use are also considered safe for older babies! Some of these awesome things include aloe, colloidal oatmeal, kaolin clay, and shea butter.

I also don't use SLS or SLES in my products which are great for lather but can leave skin feeling dry due to the molecules being small enough to soak into the skin. I use Cocamidopropyl betaine and SLSA which are coconut derived. The SLSA is not a sulfate like SLS and the molecules are too bit go be absorbed into the skin. So your dermal layer can stay moisturized and hydrated!

I also have a goal in my life to be as eco conscious as I can be. While we all want to save the planet a lot of the tactics people talk about can be more expensive than some can afford to do. And while recycling is great, in reality not everything that is meant to be recycled actually gets recycled so Bewitching Bathery LLC prefers to try and reuse plastic products as much as possible. This is also why you won't see a lot of paper packaging in my shop. I don't believe the best thing to do for our planet is to cut down tree after tree for paper use products. Sadly there is no "one way is the best way" tactic we can do other than reducing our use of things in general. This is why at least for now I offer a rewards program for my local customers where if you bring back the container intact with the label on I offer a discount on your next purchase. I am still working on how I can offer this reward to my online customers. I also don't waste anything in my business if I can help it. There is no throwing away soap scraps or botched formulations. These are put back into the business in either making new soap or new products in general. The shrink wrap used for some of my products and to protect your shipment is also biodegradable. It is a special plastic combined with mineral salts that is meant to fully break down into a bio material within 3 years, no micro plastics here!

Bewitching Bathery LLC also tries to support local groups. The shredded paper packaging in your order comes from Ventures Unlimited out of Cameron, WI. There they offer employment and support to those with disabilities to lead meaningful lives. That and the fact that 5% of your order goes to children in need through GoImagine (which was the biggest reason I wanted to create a shop here). I also have goals to work with local shelters to offer free bath and body products to those who really need them, and to run specials where a portion of my general sales go to other organizations as a form of donation. Your support of my business can help so many and I thank you so much for that.

I am still figuring out my business and trying to get my social media going so things are slow but growing! I'm planning on learning how to make videos and have a Youtube channel but you can still follow me on my Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest. I do work a full time job on top of my small business where I work 12 hour overnight shifts so I do have to work around that but I am so excited to this new chapter in my life and growing my dreams. Thank you so much for stopping by (if you read all of this, thank you! You're amazing) and I can't wait to work with you. Remember: I am. I can. I will.
