I'm Melissa the creative mind behind Poppy and Honey Bee, where I design and craft unique laser-cut home decor and jewelry, blending my love for color, function, and often a dash of mid-century modern style.
My journey started with a degree in interior design and a decade spent in the industry before switching gears to teach elementary school for 13 years. It was during my time at a project-based, maker school that I fell in love with laser cutting. What started as a personal hobby, making jewelry for myself and friends, turned into something more during the pandemic. Drawing inspiration from my background in interior design, I started experimenting with home decor, creating pieces like clocks, mail holders, and switch plate covers.
