About this Product
Great lasting gifts for boaters, sailors, seafarers?? Everyone!
Set of four 4-1/4” square white tiles decorated in colorful alcohol ink art with a cork back.
I love making these alcohol ink masterpieces....Okay, what I really love is watching the Fire move my art into its own designs, for the true masterpieces. Fire? Yes! I put down the colors on the tile, then set them ablaze! The fire chooses where the colors will move to and how they will mix. Each piece is a little surprise. FUN! Each coaster is unique; no two coasters will be exactly the same.
To finish the piece, I add a cork backing so that the rough underside of the coaster does not scratch your table or furniture surface
*Please note, I try to photograph each set to be as color correct as possible, however colors may represent slightly differently on screen.
These items are handcrafted one at a time. Variations are inherent in the creation of handmade products that make these pieces unique. If there is a slight defect in the finish of the resin, the protection of the artwork is still intact.

How it’s Made
The base item is a ceramic tile like you would use to tile your kitchen wall. Using alcohol inks for the color medium on the tile, I set the inks on fire. After adding high-grade isopropyl alcohol to blend the colors, it is set ablaze again. The second flame is what moves the inks and creates the unique art. A special varnish spray sets the art. Then the piece is coated in a nontoxic food-safe resin. After 3-5 days of the resin hardening, I meticulously grind off the excess resin from the back of the tile. Finally, cork is added to the back to protect your surfaces. The item is now ready to use as a coaster or art piece. Either way, it will be a conversation starter!
Shop Policies
Processing Time: Items in shop are already in inventory and will be shipped out within 2 days (M-F) of purchase. It takes a minimum of 7 days to create the product, so special orders will be shipped once completed.
Return Policy: We accept returns on damaged products. Note that the resin sealant is not guaranteed to be perfectly smooth. Inconsistencies in the surface help prevent your drinkware from suctioning to the coaster.
Care Instructions: Cleaning your coaster is easy. Use any soap to gently clean the resin surface, and gently rinse to keep the cork backing dry. The cork may get wet, but takes longer to dry. Dry the resin surface with a soft cloth (not a microfiber cloth at that can scratch the resin).
FAQ's:
We use ceramic tiles like you would use to tile your kitchen walls. Coasters are 4-1/4" square, Trivets are 6" square. Round coasters are 4" diameter.
The art medium is Alcohol Ink. The art patterns are created by setting the Alcohol Ink on fire, and the fire moves and blends the colors. Each tile is totally unique as fire is unpredictable, like it has a creative mind of its own.
The artwork is sealed with nontoxic food-safe art resin. Resin sealant can be exposed to maximum temperature 120F/50C. Any temperature higher than that, such as those from a dish straight out of the oven, may lead to damage of the surface.
We add a cork backing to protect your furniture.
