About this Product

The "The Art Between Us" series is the culmination of years of dedicated work. Artist Collin Allen collaborated with renowned fashion photographer Eric Fisher, utilizing his striking imagery as the foundation for these unique pieces. This innovative approach redefines artistic collaboration by seamlessly blending fashion photography with Allen's distinctive aesthetic.

Each artwork in the series begins with an Eric Fisher photograph, meticulously edited by Allen. A secondary image is then introduced, strategically disrupting the original and creating a compelling sense of forced perspective that draws the viewer in. Both images undergo a meticulous process of hand-cutting and weaving, adding a layer of intricate craftsmanship to the final piece.

These extraordinary works are presented within 60" x 52" salvaged aluminum screen printing frames, each one uniquely repurposed and specifically chosen to enhance the individual artwork. The materials employed in this series – remnants of industrial processes – are unconventional in the realm of fine art, yet Allen masterfully integrates them, forging a new path for artistic expression.

How it’s Made

“The Art Between Us” is an art and photographycollaboration. Each image started with a basephotograph by Eric Fisher. Collin Allen created morethan 8,000 edits from Eric’s photos and used themto create the final images for this book, and forthe art series “Cut and Assembled”. All the imagesfor this book were made how they needed to be seen. This process of mashing, cutting, and over laying imagesis not consistent; because like the base photos used, each finished piece is unique.
