Meet the Maker
Hi - glad you stopped by. My name is Laura, and I'm the owner, designer, creator, printer, packer, coffee-maker and everything else that matters in Write Pretty Designs. My love affair with paper (and fabric) started when I was just a kid - and when paper was just white, off-white, or sometimes gray. I still remember how excited I was when I saw that first piece of writing paper that had three little strawberries in the corner. In the mid-90s I actually worked for a party store, designing and printing their custom invitations and cards in their 'desktop publishing' department. We've come a long way!
My designs are all created from vintage art and/or modern images for which I have obtained commercial licensing - but then the fun starts when I tweak, add elements, move things around, and combine artwork to create something different. I spent the last 15 years designing and creating quirky primitive dolls and animals that I sold on Etsy (Ragamuffin Prims) and to wholesale markets - so my weird sense of reality and love of strangeness does come through a bit in my cards. But you will also find the more traditional, standard and orderly approach to subject matters here too.
I'm mostly retired from making primitives, and I'm loving being able to work with papers and fabrics full time. My other passion is creating notebooks and junk journals - though I don't like that term and prefer to call them creative journals. You may eventually see some of those here as well.

How it’s Made

All of my cards are printed on high-quality white matte cardstock, ensuring a smooth, durable finish that feels as good as it looks. The cover colors and images are vibrant and rich - printed right here in my studio with my eco-tank printer. All cards are blank inside - perfect for your personal touch, no matter the occasion.
From all-occasion and specialty cards to seasonal holiday designs, WPD offers a unique selection for every need. Every card is A2 size - 4.25 x 5.5 inches, and envelopes are included.
