About this Product
This wolf is hand painted using gouache and silver watercolor on a kiln-dried pine wood ornament. The white wolf walks through a snowy birch forest, with a red cardinal perched on a limb, spying on the wildlife! I love painting wolves; it's like my safe place when it comes to making art.

Meet the Maker
Hello and welcome to my shop!
Drawing and painting are my passions! I've been working on my skill for more than 20 years and I'm constantly trying to improve. In the end I'm making art that I love - art that I would hang on my own walls. I LOVE animals. So that's mostly what I paint! I especially love chickens and puffins, so you'll see those a lot in my work.
I live in Massachusetts with my lovely husband and our sweet fur baby. My goal is to have chickens someday, but until then I will surround myself with chicken themed things and stuff!
Thank you for your interest in my work! Please feel free to message me if you have any animal requests!
How it’s Made
I use dried wood slices with a sanded smooth surface as my canvas, and I paint on them using either gouache, watercolor, or acrylic paints. Each wood slice is unique and comes with its own set of challenges. Sometimes my art will have imperfections due to the wood but that's part of it's charm. I seal each piece with acrylic gloss to prevent chipping and scratching. However, it is important to avoid direct sunlight and to keep the pieces away from water to prevent damage to both the wood and the painting, as moisture could cause the wood to crack. To dust, use a soft, dry brush.
