About this Product

My Toy Airplane Collection

I use traditional woodworking tools to make these wood toys in my Toymaker's Shop. Each toy is hand-sanded and finished with a custom blend of beeswax, mineral oil, and carnauba wax, similar to the finish you would use on your cutting board or butcher block countertop, applied hot so it will penetrate deep into the wood. This finish will not turn rancid like many oils and is food-safe.

This toy airplane is modeled after the USAF A-10 Thunderbolt II or Warthog. It is a toy, not a model, designed to approximate the look of the A-10 while still being a sturdy toy for kids' play.

I do not use any paint or stains to color the wood, so the color will depend on the wood I have on hand. Whenever possible, I will make the toy from contrasting colored wood. Yours may be different from the colors pictured here.

Each toy is carefully assembled and tested. My toys are of the highest quality I can make.

Approximate Size

  • Height: 3 Inches
  • Length: 9.875 Inches
  • Width: 10.625 Inches

All the items I create are handmade using natural wood and wood products. Each piece is unique and may vary in appearance from one item to the next. The item you receive may differ slightly from the item pictured in the listing photos. The thickness of the wood used in your item may also vary slightly from the size specified in the listing.

It's important to note that the natural variations in wood grain, color, and knots make each piece one-of-a-kind and add to the item's character and charm. The variations should be expected and are not considered defects. If you have any concerns about the variations or would like to request a specific look or size, please contact me before placing your order, and I will do my best to accommodate your request.

Meet the Maker

I am a 20-year USAF veteran, where I worked in air defense as a radar technician and later as and technical inspector. After leaving the Air Force, I had a second career and retired after 28 years as a Systems Programmer/Linux Administrator.

I am 71 and have been making things from wood since childhood. I make and sell wooden toys, ornaments, puzzles, clocks, fretwork, scrollsaw art, baskets, small animal cutouts, custom orders, and anything that catches my attention. Some of my best ideas have come from customers.

I have an eclectic taste in music. I like some of every kind of music, but I am particularly fond of blues guitar. I am a competition shooter and regularly shoot in Smallbore Rifle and Pistol Silhouette matches and Steel Challenge. I like to pretend I can play the guitar.

I have two grandchildren, my grandson Odin and my granddaughter River.
