About this Product

I’ve created a shaggy edged heart from a piece of an antique (circa 1860-1890) quilt in red, chocolate brown, cream and blue, with alternating blue and cream ticking striped squares, backed with antique German grain sack fabric for extra stability. The very old quilt was not in pristine condition, but the character is to be expected from a textile that is well over 100 years old-and only adds to the appeal and the authenticity-especially since I've used the very best parts just for YOU! I've fashioned a posey from my own special blend of "tea dyed" polymer clay and a very vintage pinched Japanese glass pearl buttons to adorn the middle and secured the heart to a vintage textile mill bobbin, with a backdrop of primitive pine greens with red and blue combination pip berries. The completed piece, excluding the jute twine hanging loop measures approx. 7.75"T X 6.0"W, (+/- 1"). You could suspend it from a nail or a peg rail, wherever your heart inspires. If you'd rather, tuck it into a bowl of rag balls and old clothespins, just clip off the jute twine hanging loop, or tuck it behind so you can hang it somewhere else when you change your decor. It is a versatile redid that will add a touch of primitive early colonial homestead charm to your farmhouse decor.

All of my items are available across multiple platforms and are sold first come, first served. Please consider that these are from an ANTIQUE quilt, so I cannot recreate another identical item-if you love a particular one that's available now, best to make your purchase when you see it to avoid disappointment!

Fabric/quilts/trimmings with an indication of "vintage" or "antique" are NOT new; therefore, they may have wear, uneven color, small holes, and other age-appropriate imperfections. I make every effort to use the best parts of any fabrics, but they are seldom pristine. All of my fabric items are sewn completely around and a slot is cut into the back piece, which is NEW fabric, for turning and stuffing. When you see a hand stitched seam on the back, it is deliberate, not a flaw. By creating my pieces this way, I can achieve better more accurate shapes than I would by hand sewing shut a curve or corner. ~B~
