Meet the Maker
I started lampworking in 2005 learning how to make small beads and jars from a local shop. After a few classes and practice hours, I decided to invest in this new hobby and get my own equipment. It was 2 years after High School that I started with glass and two years later I went to College for Graphic Design. I graduated from Rasmussen with an AAS Degree in Multimedia Technology. In 2022 I obtained a Paralegal Certificate and I now work as a Legal Specialist by day, along with creating and selling my glass art online.
I currently live in Sauk Rapids, MN with my Husband, our Dog, Parrot and 3 Cats. I love spending time outdoors in the summer time, and traveling to new places with my Husband whenever possible.
How it’s Made
I use a Bethlehem Barracuda torch and Jen-Ken kiln. My ventilation is a fan more commonly used in restaurant kitchens that goes up through the ceiling of my garage. I work with open doors to keep the air circulation going. I learned how to work with both soft and borosilicate glass in 2005. I fell in love with borosilicate and all the different colors that it can produce. I still get excited to see the colors in pieces that contain higher amounts of different metals, when they are done annealing. I have been selling online since 2008 and really enjoy creating one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces for people around the world.
