About this Product
The pillowcase dress has a unique history. This style has been around for over 100 years. The dress is historic in the South and Southern Appalachia. Historically these dresses were made from fabric flower sacs, potato sacks, old linens and the pillowcase (hence the name pillowcase dress). The families did not want to throw away fabrics that could be used for another purpose. We call this up-cycling today. The suppliers of flour would even have patterns included so families could find other uses.
The pillowcase dress has an A-Line shape and can grow with your child. The dress can be worn as a jumpsuit, sundress or even a shirt when too short to wear as a dress. The dress looks darling over a top, blouse, knit shirt or turtleneck. The dress can also be worn with leggings or tights. It is a timeless American fashion.
This dress is 100 percent cotton, machine wash and dry low. Light Iron if needed. The ties are ribbon.

Meet the Maker
I am by profession a medical social worker. I have been sewing for about 10 years. I have been crocheting since I was a child and began weaving in 2016. Making beautiful items for others brings me joy. I was born in Columbus Ohio but moved to West Virginia and Kentucky. I moved to the New England area 5 ago. I hope what I create brings joy. I am also willing to make custom orders and requests.
