How it’s Made
Each Jack-o'-Lantern begins as a vision brought to life through 3D modeling in Blender, a powerful software that allows me to meticulously sculpt every detail. From the curves of the pumpkin to the precise expression of the face, each element is carefully designed. Over the course of 27 iterations, I honed the model—refining its shape, adjusting the proportions, and ensuring the face captures that perfect balance of spooky and charming.
The process of trial and error was key in getting the design just right. I printed early versions, tested the durability and fit of the LED tea light, and even experimented with different face designs until I found the one that truly stood out. These iterations weren’t just about appearance—they helped me fine-tune the size, weight, and stability of the final product.
Once the design was perfected, I moved on to the 3D printing stage. I use high-quality, eco-friendly PLA filament, a biodegradable plastic derived from renewable resources. This material ensures that each Jack-o'-Lantern is not only durable but also sustainable. The print process can take several hours, as my 3D printer carefully layers the filament to create a strong, lightweight structure that will last for many Halloweens to come.
