Meet the Maker
Greetings!
Ravens' Hollow Handcrafted Jewelry emerged in 2021 as the materialization of a binding of communion with nature to synthesis of lived experiences: Movin' out to the country helped me figure out where I'd been, where I'm at, and where I wanna get to!
With a heart for symbolism and the ancient, I utilize the teachings of my metal clay journey, set in motion in 2016, to inform my interpretation of wearable paired with Intention and the wisdom in the musings of our global ancestors.
My pieces are comprised of silver metal clay, which is a mixture of metal particles, organic material, and water that is molded and worked like a clay. It is then refined in the greenware, or dry, stage; and fired in a kiln. The result is either .999 fine or .950 sterling silver, depending on which clay I used. Then the piece goes through an extensive polishing process in order to achieve the desired look; and I usually finish it off with a patina, and then more polishing. The components that I add to my metal clay pieces are always .950 or .925 sterling silver.
Because most of my pieces are intentionally oxidized, the coloration and variation of the oxidation can change over time, through unintentional oxidation. I recommend keeping your pieces away from chemicals and soaps, and preserving their brilliance with the polishing pad included with your piece.
May the best in me bring out the best in you!
My gratitude for stopping by,
Kris

How it’s Made
This piece is comprised of .950 sterling silver metal clay, which is a mixture of silver particles, organic material, and water. This piece was rolled between two textures, then perforated. Then it was refined in the greenware, or dry, stage. Then it was fired in a kiln. This piece went through an extensive polishing process in order to achieve this look; and I finished it off with an oxidizing patina, and then polished it more.
Because this piece is intentionally oxidized, the coloration and variation of its oxidation can change over time, through unintentional oxidation. I recommend keeping this piece away from chemicals and soaps, and preserving its brilliance with the polishing pad included with it.
