Meet the Maker
My name is Patrice Long. I live in Pearl River, Louisiana. I'm in my 50s, married, and a mother of a four-year-old. I've been creating arts and crafts since I was a small child. Even though I've worked in insurance for over 25 years, I never stopped creating and making things during that time. I've studied art at Moorpark College in California and attended other private painting classes in Los Angeles, Ca. and New Orleans, La. I sell a collection of abstract fluid art, including acrylic paint pours and resin art, in this store. I also use the paint pours to create other art pieces and prints. My husband (Darwin Long) and I sew and do other craft projects, such as costumes and costume accessories, so you will see our creations in this store. We love Halloween and Mardi Gras and enjoy creating fantasy subjects. I hope you enjoy our work as much as we do!
How it’s Made
The 8"x10" painting was made by mixing acrylic, water and painting medium with a few drops of silicon. Yellow, green, and dark blue acrylic paint was mixed and layered in a cup and flipped on the canvas. After the paint cured the canvas was cleaned and sprayed with a clear coat.
