Meet the Maker
Greetings and welcome to Things U Need. I am Melinda and I enjoy sewing, quilting, reading, watching the big ships on the Great Lakes, and being a grandma. When I was five, I started sewing and have been sewing since. Over the years I have sewn clothing items for me and the grandkids, doll clothes, home dec items, and lots of quilts. I also have a Bachelor's in Education and taught Family and Consumer Science and a Master's in Personal Finacial Planning. I hope to have items in my store that not only the customer wants but needs and can use. For those that are interested I sew on a Bernina 770 qe plus that I affectionately call Gordan. How it’s Made
I spent time researching fidget quilts online to get a general idea of what activities should be used for the quilt as there are no patterns available for purchase. I knew I needed activities that would feature buttons and found some. Once this was done, I gathered up sewing notions that had come to live in my house over the years. Much fabric had also made my house it's home so I didn't have to go shopping for that. I created nine activities and used a wide variety of buttons, rick rac, satin binding, and a zipper that opens to find buttons attached to a cord inside. There are also other buttons attached to the quilt. Basic in the ditch quilting is done in the seams with a green binding.
Alzheimer's and Dementia patients hands shake and studies recommend having activities that will keep their hands busy. Inspiration for this quilt came from my mom who had Alzheimer's when she passed and my dad who had Dementia when he passed.

Refunds and Returns
Refunds and returns are done on a case-by-case basis. Items needing to be returned or refunded must be based on complaint. Refunds and returns are not given on items already received and customer has changed their mind. Things U Need must receive an email of explanation of complaint within 10 business days of purchase. Buyer will be eligible for refund or return only if product is physically damaged.
Care instructions
Whenever possible all fabrics are prewashed to prevent bleeding and shrinkage. Seller recommends the use of a gentle detergent, a color catcher, washing in cold water, and drying on a low setting or air drying.
Orders
After orders are submitted please allow 5 to 7 days for manufacturing of product. Customer will be contacted via email when order is complete and ready to ship.
