Out in Catawba, VA; atop Cove Mountain sits a tooth. A dragon's tooth to be exact. Legend has it that a hiker climbing the mountain made the serpent-like creature mad when he complained that there was no rock to sit on and enjoy the view. The dragon went to swallow the hiker, but in the process left a tooth behind. Apparently the hiker is buried beneath the tooth.
Just kidding.
Known as part of the Triple Crown in Virginia, Dragon's Tooth is known to many for being a "hiker's playground" that includes rock scrambling and the 35' rock spire that gives way to panoramic views. Apart of the Appalachian Trail, it is a destination for thru-hikers and day hikers alike.
