Meet the Maker

I absolutely love creating ornaments for every season and occasion! My passion for crafting started way back in kindergarten when I got my hands on my first piece of paper and a bottle of finger paints. Ever since then, I haven't been able to stop. I also have a fun case of Obsessive Christmas Disorder (OCD), thanks to my grandma. When I was five, she gifted me my first little 3-foot aluminum tree with pink pine cone ornaments frosted in white, and I've been hooked ever since. For me, crafting and Christmas naturally go hand in hand. Many of the ceramic houses in my Christmas village are handmade, as are a lot of the Santas in my collection.

Pinterest opened up a whole new world of crafting for me. I've been sewing since I was eight and fell in love with quilted Christmas ornaments. After making my first two, I was addicted! It didn't take long to realize that ornaments can be enjoyed year-round. Spring and summer collections look beautiful piled in a basket or hanging from an ornament stand. The red, white, and blue ornaments are stunning accents for your 4th of July table or door wreath. And let's not forget autumn, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and of course, Christmas. The possibilities are endless.

I first opened my shop in 2015 to meet the demand of people who wanted to buy my ornaments. Initially, I didn't put much time into it. But in 2016, after being downsized from my job of 28 years, I found myself looking for work for the first time in over a quarter of a century. While searching for a new position, I had time to learn new ornament designs and really upgrade my shop and website. It was something I loved doing, and my goal was to make people happy and never be dependent on another company for my livelihood.

I put a lot of love and effort into each ornament, from selecting the perfect fabrics to handcrafting each unique piece and adding the finishing touches of glitter accents, bows, jewels, and charms. Even if I use the same fabrics, no two ornaments are ever the same. I've been honored to create ornaments from wedding dresses for mothers to give to their children, memory ornaments from shirts and dresses of loved ones, and special ornaments for pets, weddings, graduations, and new babies. Realtors have even ordered personalized ornaments for new clients with pictures of their new homes. Each one is created with love to hold memories for years to come.

Anything and everything inspires me—a walk, a painting, a song, other artists, a memory, or new fabric or trim. Stories people share with me are incredibly inspiring. Inspiration is all around us; we just need to be open to seeing it. One of my favorite quotes is, "Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes, and having fun." – Mary Lou Cook. I try to live my life by this.

What makes my business stand out? I treat every customer like royalty and provide legendary customer service. Honesty is crucial; if I don't think I can deliver a result you'll love, I'll let you know. I don't accept orders just to make a sale. I'm always striving to improve my ornaments by introducing new processes and products, and I stand behind my work with a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

People often ask if I have a studio or store. As my kids have grown and left home, new space has opened up. A spare bedroom is now my studio, my creatively messy sanctuary. It's filled with things that inspire me and make me happy—pictures of my kids and grandkids, a crystal sugar and creamer that was my mom's, Christmas lights everywhere, fabrics, trims, gifts from friends, and things my kids made in grade school. Bins of magical fabrics are stacked on the floor, my kitty sleeps on the loveseat, and Christmas music plays on the radio. It's pure heaven!

The most rewarding part of my business is the amazing feeling I get when someone sends a message saying they received their ornament and love it. It's an indescribable sense of satisfaction knowing that one of my creations made someone so happy.
