About this Product
This buckle measures 2" by 3" and is a quarter inch in thickness. I have fashioned this piece in my beveled edge design and the stone is supported with my custom made German Silver backing. The backing is signed and dated along with the gemstones name and this buckle will fit a belt up to 1 1/2 inches in width. Note, German Silver is not silver but an alloy comprised of nickle,brass and zinc. The reasons I use it is that it's less expensive, it's much stronger and it does not tarnish as does silver.

How it’s Made
I have been making my buckles for approximately 45 years. I cut shape and polish all my pieces and fabricate my belt buckle backings using German silver or as it's also called nickle silver. German silver is not silver but an alloy comprised of nickle,brass, and zinc and I use it because it is stronger,less expensive and it doesn't tarnish as does silver. All my buckles take around 20 different steps to complete and the one's with silver insets take many more steps.
