About this Product
I cut and polished this gemstone from a 30 year old block of sandstone then set it in a hand forged 925 sterling silver bezel setting with a copper moon and stamped brass bird accent. The back design is my version of wild birds in a windstorm.

Meet the Maker
I lived and worked in and around South Asia for 20 years. I started women's coops in Afghanistan, India, Nepal...as an artist I was always picking up cool stuff so now I have a mountain of gemstones, trinkets and weird old treasures to play with in my metal smithing and artists studio.
How it’s Made
I took a gemstone cutting class with my metal smith teachers husband. It was fun and this is the first stone I cut and polished myself. I fabricated the backplate from nice heavy sterling silver sheet and bezel set the stone. I think I enjoy the little accents the most; sawing tiny circles from heavy brass and stamping designs on them and the backplate.
