Asymmetrical Cut-Out & Carved Fine Silver Dangle Earrings
These showy dangle earrings were made from a melt of antique .999/1000 fine silver tableware that we allowed to find its own levels in a mold, cut into two pieces with different silhouettes, carved with streaking lines that we oxidized to an inky black patina and from which we cut out two different sizes of circles. Suspended from hand made sterling silver ear wires, one earring has a 1 3/4 x 1 1/4-inch dangle and measures 2 3/4-inches long overall, the other earring has a 1 1/8 x 1-inch dangle and measures 3-inches long overall and the pair weighs 14.4 grams combined. The earrings are coated in Renaissance wax to preserve the applied patina and resist the natural oxidization of silver over time. These are available in virtually any size - please inquire! Please Note: although we do make the ear wires ourselves, they are made from sterling silver for its added hardness and resistance to bending.

How it’s Made
All of our jewelry is handmade using sustainable practices including melting of broken or obsolete gold and silver objects, the use of natural and/or recycled fabrication, stationery and shipping materials whenever possible and recycling of previously used or collected gemstones. By design and the processes of melting, hammer-forging and/or rolling the metals we use, our jewelry is more substantial in mass and weight than most commercially made jewelry (that's why we include gram weights in all of our listings). Please note that due to vagaries inherent in this process, each piece is unique in some respect(s), and custom orders will reflect this in slight differences in hammering and other tooling marks, depth of oxidization and etc.
