About this Product
I have formed this piece of Australian Tiger-Eye Jasper in my beveled edge buckle design.I really love this stone because the tiger-eye runs in veins between veins of red jasper, This piece measures 2" by 3" and is 1/4" in thickness. The stone is supported with my handmade German Silver backing and will fit a belt up to 1 1/2" in width. All the backing are signed and dated along with the type of gemstone the buckle is made of . Note that German Silver is not silver but an alloy comprised of nickle, brass and zinc. I choose to use this for my backing for these reasons. This alloy is stronger and much less expensive and it doesn't tarnish as does silver.

How it’s Made
I have been making my buckles for approximately 45 years. I cut shape and polish all my pieces and fabricate my belt buckle backings using German silver or as it's also called nickle silver. German silver is not silver but an alloy comprised of nickle, brass, and zinc and I use it because it is stronger, less expensive and it doesn't tarnish as does silver. All my buckles take around 20 different steps to complete and the one's with silver insets take many more steps.
