Baba Yaga, a enigmatic figure from Slavic folklore, embodies the dual nature of nurturing and menace. Often portrayed as a witch with supernatural powers, her appearance is marked by a long nose and, in some tales, iron teeth, signifying her otherworldly essence. Central to Baba Yaga's lore is her remarkable hut, perched upon chicken legs, granting it mobility and a life-like quality.

This hut, which can reveal its entrance only to those who utter the correct incantation, is a treasure trove of magical artifacts, reflecting Baba Yaga's deep connection to the mystical realm.Baba Yaga's character is shrouded in symbolism, often interpreted as the embodiment of nature's cycles and the thin veil between the earthly and the spiritual.

Her narratives, rich in moral lessons, traverse the spectrum from guidance to malevolence, showcasing her as a complex figure of Slavic mythology. The imagery of Baba Yaga and her animate hut captures the essence of Slavic enchantment, weaving a tapestry of folklore that highlights themes of wisdom, transformation, and the unpredictable forces of nature.

Meet the Maker

The Wicked Griffin is dedicated to complementing the slightly darker side to life with eclectic inspirations derived from Paganism, Norse Mythology, Vikings, Medieval Times, the Occult, Esoteric & Fantasy The Wicked Griffin, officially got it’s start back in the late 90′s with the help of a high school silver smithing class.

Being taught basic and advanced metal working techniques, The Wicked Griffin, aka Jacqueline decided it was time to start manifesting the images floating around her head in early 2011.

I work in my home studio, where you will find me sawing, firing, hammering, soldering, etching and a number of other things! I take my own product pictures and I also designed and maintain this website all while taking care of my 3 beautiful children.

I’ve definitely got a lot on my shoulders, but… I absolutely adore what I do. It is extremely humbling to me and I am so grateful to receive all the love, support and positive feedback on my work.

People like you make all the effort worth it. I love creating a powerful piece so that you may express yourself in a bold way.

I like to think of my artwork not just as jewelry, but as wearable art. I gain inspiration from historic paintings, statues and depictions of ancient gods and goddesses, music & nature.

I try to recreate a tangible piece of jewelry from these sources, while also maintaing my own inner creativity and drive.

The body is a temple, and should be expressed as such! My passion is to help that “particular” person express themselves through the means of adorning the body in jewelry as an art form. Thank you so much, from my heart to yours, for visiting my website and taking an interest in what I have to offer!

ORDER TIMELINE

Current production time 1-2 week *minimum* but may be shorter or longer.

The Wicked Griffin handcrafts all items to order, in the order received.

This production time is part of my shop policies and placing an order means you understand and agree. If you do not, please do not place an order.

– These timeframes are estimates only and may change without notice based on the below factors

– Once your order ships, you will receive a tracking number via email

– One of a kind items are ready to ship and will ship within one business day unless you purchase other items which are made to order

– How many orders are currently in my queue (this is usually a lot when I have a sale or new collection launch and may extend processing time – especially during the months of November to January)

– How large and or complex each order is in my queue

– Orders are worked first come first served, however if I have more than 2 orders for the same item I will create them together as it is more time efficient for me to do so

– Remember I am a one woman artist/business and that each and every order is made by hand from raw materials one at a time and I do my very best to process each order as quickly as I can while also maintaining quality. Most made to order art jewelers have a 12 week minimum turnaround and this is a typical timeframe, so my own is not nearly as long.

– Please note that this is my full time job and I work on orders 7 days a week. I know how excited you are to receive your item and I do my best to get it to you as quickly as I can.

– With this said, your order may ship sooner
