Are you a parent, grandparent or anyone else who has a new baby in their life? If so, you know babies end up with a lot of things. Some useful and some less useful...but all adorable! I think we can all agree that blankets are definitely one of those things that you end of with plenty of. They are all so cute and cozy but sometimes there are just too many.
When you purchase this listing, you will receive a message with instructions on where to send the blanket of your choice and I will turn it into a matching diaper cover and baby shoes set! Receiving blankets are the most common blanket used for this upcycle project but any blanket of the same weave and size will work perfectly.
The diaper cover will be made with the blanket as the outer shell and PUL as a wipeable lining, making this a fully functional diaper cover. Kam Snaps are used for closure and you can choose to have rise snaps placed or no rise snaps.
The baby shoes are soft sole and made with the blanket as the outer shell and a light weight cotton fabric (cotton woven, flannel, etc) as the lining. The sole will be made with a non slip fabric for all sizes 6 months and up.

Meet the Maker
My name is Shay Power and I am the owner and designer of Things by Shay Inc. I have always loved crafting and making new things. Sewing did not become part of my skill set until I became pregnant with my first child. I really wanted to give cloth diapers a go so I decided to make my own.
My mother in law gave me my first sewing machine as a gift so I could make her first grand baby the diapers I wanted him to have. (Isn't she sweet?) It was a basic Brother sewing machine but it did the job I needed it to do and more. I made almost 30 cloth diapers with that machine and I fell in love sewing with that machine. Even though I have upgraded from that basic Brother now, I will never forget it. (I now have 5 wonderful machines, btw.)
After those months of sewing and realizing that I had a natural talent for it, I decided to make more and more things. I started making clothes for my baby and myself and my second baby when she came along. I was obsessed! I practiced and practiced. Then I decided to open a handmade shop selling clothing, bags, and other accessories for everyone. So Things by Shay Inc was born.
It took a long time picking out a name. I went through several until I landed on one that really felt right and didn't limit me to one particular niche. Afterall, I make all kinds of Things. Then I came across a post on Facebook one day that was discussing the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). So I worked hard for a long time to make sure I understood as much as possible about CPSC requirements in order to make sure that the products I sold to my customers (especially children) are safe. So rest assured that all products sold by Things by Shay Inc follow CPSC regulations!
While handmade is never perfect, take pride in knowing that you are purchasing a product that is made with love, patience, and with the upmost respect and ethics. I strive to make the best quality products I can and I am proud of each piece that leaves my studio.
How it’s Made
There are many steps that go into creating this usable keepsake bundle. First we (the buyer and myself) will determine the placement of any stripes, images or wording that the blanket may have.
I will then cut all the pieces, sew everything together and apply the snaps. It takes a lot of time but you'll love the results.

Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs and the amount of the original shipment will be deducted from any refunds.
