About this Product

Introduce a burst of color and charm to your baby's nursery with this Bright and Bold Baby Jelly Roll Race Quilt. Handmade with care, this modern patchwork quilt measures 32x48 inches and features a vibrant striped design created from multiple 2 ½" strips of 100% cotton geometric print fabrics.

I expertly craft each quilt, machine piecing and professionally quilting them on a longarm machine in an overlapping box design with gray thread. The quilt's backing is a single wide piece of 100% cotton fabric in a gray-on-white geometric print, while the cotton batting provides cozy warmth. The double-fold binding is machine-stitched front and back to ensure durability and longevity.

This quilt is made in a smoke-free, pet-friendly home and has been pre-shrunk and washed with “All Free and Clear” detergent to maintain the vibrant colors and achieve a delightful, crinkled texture. It is easy to care for—simply machine wash on a gentle cycle with cold water and tumble dry on low heat or line dry.

The jelly roll race technique, which involves sewing 40-42 pieces of fabric end to end to create a continuous 1600-inch strip, gives this quilt its unique and playful look. This process mimics a race as the fabric is folded and sewn repeatedly, with the sewing machine humming along like a racer.

Perfect for adding a pop of color to your baby's room, this quilt is ideal for tummy time, as a stroller blanket, or as a cozy addition to your nursery decor. The bright and bold geometric prints are sure to capture your little one's attention, making it both a practical and delightful piece.

This unique baby quilt showcases Amanda's personal twist on the popular jelly roll race pattern, offering a fresh and vibrant take on a beloved quilting style. Bring home this beautiful and functional piece, crafted with love and creativity, to brighten your baby's space.

Crafthouse Quilters

Meet the Maker

Hello, my name is Amanda, and I’m delighted you stopped by my profile! I’m a proud mother of three and a grandmother to six (and counting!). With a bachelor’s degree in architectural design technology, I bring my passion for design into a variety of crafts. Inspired by my mother’s advice to try everything at least once, I’ve immersed myself in the world of creativity. I’ve been crocheting since 1978, beading since 2008, and quilting since 2011, always keeping myself and the children in my life busy with endless crafty projects. My current quilting adventure has led me to explore the captivating jelly roll quilt design. With many of my quilt designs I revel in experimenting with new techniques, color combinations, and piece arrangements, discovering fresh and exciting looks along the way. Along with several family members we create the items in this shop. Together we are the Crafthouse Quilters.

At Crafthouse Quilters, we embark on a mission that extends beyond the mere creation of quilts; it's about curating a unique and artistic experience for every piece as well as redefining the essence of warmth and connection through our meticulously crafted quilts. We believe that the best quilts are not just products; they are manifestations of durability, comfort and artistry, intricately woven into every stitch. We believe that each person is a distinctive soul deserving of a special quilt that resonates with their uniqueness. Whether you find it within our shop or elsewhere, we hope you discover the quilt that speaks uniquely to you.

Our quilts go beyond being a mere accessory; they are a perfect solution for those seeking respite from the winter chill or for those who crave a cozy night's sleep without the burden of overheating. We take pride in offering a quilted haven that adapts to your body's needs, providing the ideal balance of warmth and breathability.  Beyond their functional utility, our quilts serve as stylish accents for your living spaces. Whether draped over a sofa or elegantly laid on a bed, our quilts exude a timeless charm, transforming any room into a haven of comfort and aesthetics.

We recognize quilts as more than just fabric and thread; they are symbols of connection, family, and stability. In every stitch, we celebrate the resilient spirit of women who, through their creativity, overcame hardships and wove together the threads of family values. Our quilts stand as a testament to the rich tapestry of life's experiences and the enduring bonds that connect us all.

Our passion for quilting extends beyond fabric and threads—it's a love affair with the entire creative process. Beginning with a humble piece of paper and a pencil, we sketch and envision intricate blocks or entire quilt designs. Colors dance in our minds, leading us to our stash or the local quilt shop, where we discover beautiful fabrics that will bring our visions to life.

The journey continues with the rhythmic hum of the iron, the precision of cutting, and the artistry of sewing, transforming the envisioned drawing into a tangible reality. With each quilt, we meticulously select special stitching patterns and threads, adding the finishing touches that elevate each creation into an inspired and artistic masterpiece for our customers.

We derive immense joy from the belief that every quilt should tell a unique story and connect with its owner on a personal level. It's an honor and a pleasure to witness the delight in someone's eyes when they find a quilt that truly speaks to them, resonating with their individuality.

At Crafthouse Quilters, we don't just create quilts; we craft stories, emotions, and a legacy of warmth. Join us in embracing and celebrating the beauty of handmade quilts—crafted not just with skillful hands but with heart and soul. From the initial sketch to the final stitch, our quilts are more than blankets; they are woven tales of comfort, creativity, and the joy of connecting with something uniquely yours. Grab a quilt and let it be a tale of enduring connections and cherished memories for you and your family.

How it’s Made

Our quilts stand apart from mass-produced competitors because of the meticulous process and care that goes into each handmade piece. Every baby jelly roll race quilt takes approximately 5 hours to complete, a testament to the dedication and craftsmanship involved.

The journey begins with selecting the perfect fabrics from my leftover stash, which are then ironed and precisely cut into 2 1/2 inch strips. Once I have 20 strips, cut in half, I trim the selvage and carefully lay them out in an aesthetically pleasing order. The strips are sewn together in a unique jelly roll race style, creating a continuous strip that is then folded, sewn, and cut repeatedly to form the quilt top.

This quilt top is then combined with the batting and backing to form the quilt sandwich, which is quilted on a longarm machine. The final touch is the binding, which finishes the edges and ensures durability.

Beyond crafting the quilt, I also handle the behind-the-scenes work, including photographing, listing, and marketing. Although my photos may not be professional, each one improves as I continue to learn and grow as a quilter.

By highlighting this intricate process, it's clear that our quilts are truly handmade with love and dedication, offering a unique and personal touch that manufactured products simply cannot match.
