About this Product

This charming 32x48-inch baby quilt is handcrafted with soft pastel tones and delightful baby animal prints, perfect for a nursery. Using 100% cotton fabric, the quilt is constructed in a popular jelly roll race pattern, featuring multiple 2 ½-inch strips sewn together to create a unique, playful design.

The quilt’s backing is made from a 100% cotton gray-on-white floral fabric, complemented by an 80/20 cotton-poly batting that provides both warmth and durability. The quilt is machine-pieced and professionally quilted on a longarm machine, with white thread in a meandering design adding to its charm.

To ensure longevity, the quilt features a double-fold binding, machine-stitched on both front and back. It’s crafted in a smoke-free, pet-friendly home and has been prewashed with “All Free and Clear” detergent to preserve its vibrant colors and achieve a cozy, crinkled texture.

Care instructions: Machine wash on a gentle cycle with cold water; tumble dry on low heat or line dry.

The jelly roll race quilt is named for its construction method—strips of fabric are sewn end to end, creating over 1600 inches of fabric that are then folded and stitched in a race-like process. While the standard jelly roll race quilt is popular for its ease of use with precut fabric strips, I’ve developed my own version to achieve the perfect balance of style and functionality.

Meet the Maker

Hello, my name is Amanda, and I’m delighted you stopped by my profile! I’m a proud mother of three and a grandmother to six (and counting!). With a bachelor’s degree in architectural design technology, I bring my passion for design into a variety of crafts. How it’s Made

Our quilts stand apart from mass-produced competitors because of the meticulous process and care that goes into each handmade piece. Every baby jelly roll race quilt takes approximately 5 hours to complete, a testament to the dedication and craftsmanship involved.

The journey begins with selecting the perfect fabrics from my leftover stash, which are then ironed and precisely cut into 2 1/2 inch strips. Once I have 20 strips, cut in half, I trim the selvage and carefully lay them out in an aesthetically pleasing order. The strips are sewn together in a unique jelly roll race style, creating a continuous strip that is then folded, sewn, and cut repeatedly to form the quilt top.

This quilt top is then combined with the batting and backing to form the quilt sandwich, which is quilted on a longarm machine. The final touch is the binding, which finishes the edges and ensures durability.

Beyond crafting the quilt, I also handle the behind-the-scenes work, including photographing, listing, and marketing. Although my photos may not be professional, each one improves as I continue to learn and grow as a quilter.

By highlighting this intricate process, it's clear that our quilts are truly handmade with love and dedication, offering a unique and personal touch that manufactured products simply cannot match.

Quilting Experience

I did my first quilt in 1989. I had a difficult time quilting with 3 toddlers, so I put the quilting away until 2011. Since then, I have lost count of the numerous quilts I have made for friends, family and charity. I have enjoyed exploring many different styles of quilting and I haven't finished exploring yet.  I can't wait to find my next big thing.
