Hana Ma'ema'e Crafts
Meet the Maker
Aloha, my name is Shayna and my middle name is Ma'ema'e which is a family name belonging to my grandmother and many other great women before her. It means to be pure and/or clean. Hana means to work or labor. I hope that each of my crafts embody pure, clean work as each piece is handmade by myself with aloha.
I was born and raised in Hawaii and now living in Oregon. While the PNW is beautiful, it is hard to find pua (flowers) native to my Hawaii nei (beloved). Because of this, I started making my own lei out of artificial flowers then also began making my own artificial flowers to make things other than just lei such as jewelry and accessories. Here I am now trying to spread the aloha and beauty from Hawaii.
How it’s Made
Both the puakenikeni and pakalana flowers from this bag charm are made out of polymer clay and sculpted by my own hands.
