This stunning pendant features a black onyx heart that has been wrapped in copper wire. To create this piece, I took 6 pieces of 18 gauge round copper wire and connected them at the bottom by weaving a piece of 28 gauge round copper wire around them. The bail is made by braiding 6 pieces of the 18 gauge round copper wire together. I have added a cute little tight swirl at the bottom with one of the pieces of 18 gauge round copper wire and added a cute, swirly vine on the side with another piece of the 18 gauge round copper wire. This piece is handmade in Minnesota.
Black onyx is thought to provide a shield against negative energy while promoting self-control, strengthening relationships, and helping to heal past emotional wounds. Many believe that this stone can help get rid of grief and stimulate wise decision making.
Black onyx is believed to resonate with the base and root chakras.
This piece measures 2.25” tall and 1.25” across and will come with a 20" braided black cord.
This piece is not oxidized but could be. The oxidization process is done by putting the piece in a mixture of liver of sulfur and water. I leave the piece until for 30-45 seconds and then I pull it out and clean it with soap, water, and a piece of steel wool. I make sure not to scratch the stone when doing this.
