Oregon Beach Girl and Have Faith

Meet the Maker
My life as a jewelry designer, started the day I was gifted my grandmother's Swarovski Crystal necklaces from the 1930s. Unfortunately I couldn't wear either of them, they were too small. I knew I wanted to take them apart and reinvent them but I didn't have any knowledge of that. I took a basic jewelry making class. The rest is all self-taught trial and error and delightful surprises along the way.
The spiritual element of my designs comes from four years of seminary and practice in healthcare and hospice as a clinically trained Chaplain. Having the ability to be neutral and accept people's religions and faith traditions as well as people who had no spiritual base, allowed me to provide the emotional support they desired. All my designs are channeled from a Source greater than I can imagine. I am especially connected to Catholic rosaries, Saint Francis and Quan Yin prayer beads.
Everything I create is from my heart. Each piece tells me what it wants to be. I always know that I am creating each one of a kind piece for someone that I just haven't met yet. If this jewelry inspires you, please share it with others!

How it’s Made
My earliest memory of my fascination with pearls was as a little girl. I would play for hours in my mother's jewelry box! She had a long strand of faux pearls (which I still have) and I would dress up and imagine myself as some Elegant, Royal, Being!
I have always been intrigued by the many dips and layers that make up pearls. I appreciate those "imperfections" as part of the story the pearl tells of its journey.
