About this Product
This beautiful bead embroidery pendant has a true artisan feel, from the wire wrapped rustic cone clasp to the beaded Chrysocolla gemstone. The technique of bead embroidery is what gives your pendant shape, firmness and its unique design. See below in the "How it's Made" section for a brief description of what makes bead embroidery so special. When I stitched around the Chrysocolla stone I left the edges visible to showcase the beauty of its genuine stone look. The back of the pendant has a soft layer of suede to protect clothing while wearing it. The necklace measures just under 20 inches long and could be adjustable by simply twisting open the connecting rings located near the clasp with a pair of light weight pliers, and either adding or removing rings to reach your desired length. The size of the pendant itself is 2 1/2 inches long by 2 inches wide. Included in your order will be a few extra connecting rings and a polishing cloth to help keep your metal components shiny and looking like new!

How it’s Made
Bead embroidery is a style of thread art that involves sewing various kinds of beads to fabric or cloth. What makes it amazing is its ability to be used as an expression of the self. You’re basically painting with beads! Bead embroidery involves stitching 2-4 beads in a line and sewing back through them with a needle and thread, creating a stich to hold them in place on a stiff piece of material called beading foundation. It's much like one step forward and two steps back, making bead embroidery a very meticulous, intricate way to create beautiful patterns for pendants and other decorative pieces. Once your design is stitched onto beading foundation, it is then sewn onto ultra suede or other soft material used for finishing off the back of your piece. Finally, all the layers are then sewn together by a beaded border. From here, it is easy to bead a loop to attach to a chain, leather rope, fabric, or anything else you can hang your piece on.
