About this Product
The Bead Soup for the Soul Kumihimo Necklace is a thoughtfully handcrafted piece designed for versatility, balance, and everyday elegance. Created using a traditional Kumihimo braiding technique, this necklace features size 8/0 Japanese glass seed beads arranged in a free-flowing bead soup pattern—intentionally random, beautifully balanced, and completely one of a kind.
At the center hangs a softly polished rose quartz pendant, adding a gentle blush tone that pairs effortlessly with the cool blues and subtle neutrals woven throughout the braid. Rose quartz is often associated with calm, compassion, and emotional balance, making this necklace as meaningful as it is wearable.
Finished with a toggle clasp featuring a ring and T-bar closure, this design is easy to put on and remove while providing a clean, polished look. The necklace measures approximately 21 inches total, including the clasp, making it ideal for wearing solo or layering with other pieces.
Designed to transition seamlessly from business casual and professional settings to everyday wear, this Kumihimo necklace pairs just as beautifully with a blazer as it does with jeans and a t-shirt. Each piece is handcrafted by Bead & Braid Collective, ensuring an artisan-made necklace that celebrates individuality, texture, and intentional design.

About the Artist
Hi, I’m Tracy — the artist behind Bead & Braid Collective. I discovered Kumihimo during a chaotic time in my life when I needed something calming, structured, and creative to help me unwind so I could be better prepared for the next day. As someone who leans toward the methodical side, the rhythm and focus of braid work felt natural to me. What began as a relaxing outlet has grown into a craft I truly enjoy, and I’m excited to continue learning new techniques in the years ahead.
I work with beads, fibers, and mixed mediums to create pieces that range from soft gradients to bold color blocks and unique textures. Some of my designs are entirely my own; others are inspired by the talented artists who came before me, and their names are proudly credited on the applicable listings within my shop. Every necklace — original or credited — can be made in the colors that resonate with you most.
Outside the studio, I’m a very proud grandmother of five, and they are the center of my world. Their joy and energy remind me to keep creating with heart, patience, and intention.
Thank you for supporting handmade artistry and for being part of this journey with me.
Love Unapologetically,
Tracy
How it’s Made
Every piece in the Bead & Braid Collective begins with hand-selected materials chosen for their quality, color, and feel. I work primarily with Kumihimo techniques, a traditional Japanese form of braiding that creates strength, structure, and beautiful texture. Each necklace is built one bead at a time, following a carefully planned pattern to achieve smooth gradients, bold contrasts, and unique designs that you won’t find in mass-produced jewelry. Nothing is outsourced or automated—every braid is created by hand, with attention and intention.
From setup to finishing, each step is done in-studio with care. I measure and prepare every strand, maintain consistent tension throughout the braid for a clean, even finish, and secure each piece with a durable, high-quality clasp. Once the braid is complete, I shape the necklace, trim and seal the ends, and complete the final detailing so it wears comfortably and lasts. The result is a piece meant to feel intentional, timeless, and exquisitely crafted from the very first glance.
