Black-Tailed Prairie dogs (Cynomys ludovicianus) are herbivorous burrowing ground squirrels native to the grasslands of North America, Mexico, and Canada.
Prairie dogs are sociable animals as the picture shows.
This mammal is a species of ground squirrel, Prairie dogs are named for their habitat and warning call, which sounds similar to a dog's bark. Prairie dogs use a range of vocalizations to communicate about predators. Prairie dogs raise their heads from their burrows in response to disturbances.
When a prairie dog detects danger, it will retreat to a burrow mound and give warning with a series of yips.
Prairie dogs are chiefly herbivorous, although they occasionally eat insects. They feed primarily on grasses and small seeds.

As photographers: Julie and Bob, a husband and wife team, have been traveling for the past 40 years photographing a wide variety of subjects, primarily nature, and wildlife. Our photographs have been purchased, and enjoyed by many private collectors, while some of our photographs have appeared in natural history museums.
We also produce unique, and one of a kind wood products that serve as both functional, and ornamental in their quality. Our wood pieces are made by hand from locally, and responsibly harvested materials.
We have had great success selling products at local art & craft fairs throughout southern Wisconsin.
Now that we are retired, we continue to focus on our crafts, wishing to open up our wares to a wider audience. Therefore, we are now offing our items for sale online. We hope you enjoy the creativity, and lifelong passion that we craft into every piece that we make.
How it’s Made
Photographs
All photos are printed on archival paper.
Frame is not included. Prints are offered in common sizes, allowing you to purchase a frame to match your decor.
Canvas
Image is printed on certified archival quality canvas.
Canvas is wrapped around a 1.5” wood stretcher frame.
Canvass prints are ready to hang.
Proper Care of canvas image: It is recommended that a microfiber towel is used to remove dust or fingerprints. from canvas. Do not use chemicals, cleaners, or abrasive cloths.
