About this Product

Many of us love vampires, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be wary when they come lurking around with their fangs hanging out.
This sweetly creepy metal sign reminds us to be on guard, whether the beautiful bloodsuckers show up in human form or as a bat.

The Beware of Vampire sign wonderfully compliments garlic and wooden stakes as a vampire safeguard. Hang on your front door, above your bed, in your office or anywhere vampires typically like to loiter – like the kitchen chopping block where you prepare raw meat.

Enjoy!

  • 12 inches x 16 inches
  • Center hole with wire chain or loop for hanging
  • Year-round appeal, or re-usable year after year after year

The 26o-gauge galvanized sheet metal is too thick to cut by hand like I used to, so I now use my handy dandy plasma cutter. Massive temperatures cut through metal like butter (and anything else that gets in the way).

Since I’m a big fan of letting my creativity flow, the sign shapes are now a bit more freeform than uniform. If that’s good with you, let’s do it!

Please send any questions and custom requests my way.

Love to hear from you!

Meet the Maker

Hi. I'm Ryn Gargulinski. But you can call me Rynski.

I was born with a Sharpie marker in hand. Well, not really. But I discovered the joy of creation very early in my life. My handmade items include custom illustrations, metal yard art – including my signature “Beware of Dog” sign – clay and faux fur fantasy figurines, lucky voodoo dolls, books, paintings and more.

Anything I see that looks like it can be turned into art gets turned into art. Either that, or it sits in my backyard, garage or studio until sometime trips on it enough times to throw it away.

RYNSKI SUCCESS STORY

Ryn Gargulinski [Rynski] is an award-winning writer, artist, coach, Reiki master and dog lover who once traded her artwork on the streets of New York City just to eat and get her daily beer. She has since given up drinking and now has enough money to eat—even organic!

She has also expanded her art into a successful enterprise, her writing and branding services into a thriving business, and her coaching, healing and speaking into a growing practice that has already helped many realize and expand into their true potential.

Credentials include 10 published books, more than a dozen awards, and 20+ years in recovery from alcohol. Don’t forget the two happy hounds, one happy hubby, and one helluva crystal collection.

Her life purpose is to use her creativity, experience and humor to inspire others to live lives filled with freedom and joy. And yes, that includes bringing freedom and joy to dogs.

How it’s Made

Rynski Metal Signs start as a giant piece of galvanized sheet metal that has to be hauled home from the seller in the back of a pickup. The 10-foot sheets are carefully unloaded behind my backyard art studio/shed and then cut into smaller sheets with my handy dandy plasma cutter.

When an order comes in, I first cut the smaller metal sheets to size, and then to the desired shape. Dogs are the most popular.

Keep in mind that:

  • The plasma cutter hits 30,000 degrees
  • I need to wear gloves and a protective hood, with a lens that darkens when sparks start to fly
  • It’s hot as blazes in Florida to begin with, so it’s best to set up a shade umbrella and turn on the AC in my studio/shed for respite between creation phases.

Once the shape is cut, the piece is sanded, cleaned, pounded and filed to remove sharp edges.

  • Rust-Oleum spray paint is my paint of choice for the body colors.
  • Lettering, eyeballs and other details are hand-painted with paint markers.
  • The piece is finished off with a chain for easy hanging and a topping of clear coat protective sealer.

The result?

A one-of-a-kind adorable, delightful and/or creepy sign – depending on what you ordered.:)

NOTE: Metal signs are individually hand-painted and hand-cut with plasma cutter, which may result in variations from pictured sign. No two are exactly the same, although I can aim to match the photo as closely as possible if desired.

Shop Policies

Processing Time: Orders are handcrafted and typically ship within 10 business days after ordering. Some orders may take longer based on scope of creation process.

Return Policy: Returns and exchanges are generally not accepted. Exceptions may possibly be made for specific situations. Please contact rynski@rynskilife.com within three days of receiving your order with any questions or concerns.

Care Instructions: Most metal art is designed for indoor or outdoor use. This includes using rust-resistant paint, galvanized sheet metal and clear coat for protection.  If used outdoors, be aware of the impact the weather conditions will have on your piece. Outdoor art does best when not in the path of a sprinkler and/or not exposed to harsh winter elements. You may spray a protective coating, such as clear coat, on the piece once a year or more to help preserve the painting.

FAQ's

Do you do custom orders? Yes! Please contact rynski@rynskilife.com with details and I can provide an estimate for the piece you want created.

Can the signs be put on stakes in the yard? And do you provide the stakes? Yes and no. Yes: The signs work great on outdoor stakes. No: I do not provide the stakes.

You can use a wooden or metal rod, U-bar or T-bar sold at most hardware stores. My metal signs usually come with one hole in the top center and a ready-to-hang hook or chain. If you are planning to use a stake, let me know in advance and I can create an additional hole in the bottom center if desired.

Can the signs be put on fences or walls? Yes. Metal art pieces usually come with one hole in the top center and a ready-to-hang hook or chain. If you are planning to secure your piece to a fence, wall or other fixture, let me know in advance if you would like additional holes created at the bottom or corners of the sign for improved security.

I love Rynski's work. I've purchased several over the years and this one was no different. Excellent quality and just perfect. In fact, it was so perfect, it was stolen. sob. Luckily I bought two and the other sign hasn't been stolen yet.
