Meet the Maker
Everything here is handmade and I often reclaim unused items, and/or create with bits of nature, such as leaves, twigs, or bark.
For nearly 10 years, I've dyed and printed with local plants and have enjoyed the mystery of how these plants, from my backyard, color fabric and paper in such an unpredictable and seemingly magical way.
In addition to printing from nature on fabric and paper, I use gourds from the garden, old Christmas bulbs, and a multitude of used items as part of a unique ornament or object. Mixed media creations, these turn out to be, often with paper clay or paper mache added to complete them.

How it’s Made
The basic, paper mache shape of the chick was made from recycled paper and cardboard.
With drying time in between each step, a layer of paper clay, paint and a sealer covers the paper mache songbird.
Lastly, two little twigs were attached as legs.
