This is a one of a kind refinished wooden box. The measurements are 5 1/2 inches tall by 5 1/2 wide. It is 4 1/4 inches in height. It has been handpainted in acrylic and resealed with a Polyacrylic finish. Water may cause the finish to go opaque but will clear upon drying.I consider these items I repaint as mainly decorative works of art, or for small trinket holding and such. They are not ever going to be reproduced exactly as each piece I discover has it's own past. Scuffs and marks are under the sealer if any and I consider a part of their history.

Meet the Maker
I have been creating art in any available form for more than 35 years, using an A.A in Fine Arts, my first career as a professional framer and secondary career in the plant nursery business as inspiration. As well as the influence of my mother who was a painter, photographer, ceramicist, Seamstress, doll maker and automotive detail painter. She left my world when I was 23, after I had gotten my degree, and I just picked up her paintbrushes and kept at it. We are essentially Jacks-of-all artistic trades. It has proven to run in the family - this love of anything creative, and the desire to learn one thing and then another… This constant interaction with the muse.
My proffered means of inspiring creative interaction are watercolors and drawings using Prismacolor pencils. They are what I worked on first, and in a couple different styles. My mother taught me the ways of ceramic and doll making. She also made fantastic copper enamel jewelry and I had a passion to learn how she did it, so I taught myself. The one thing I do and sell the most, is taking a familial love of thrift store shopping to find unique items and repaint them. Each one is completely unique, there are no templates or set patterns, It’s almost as if the piece tells me how it wants to be repurposed as art. This is mostly what you’ll find in this shop. Along with whatever unusual pieces or crafts speak to me, that I can part with, if the connection is not too strong… it happens sometimes!
I’ve dabbled in: photography, computer graphics, ceramics and porcelain dolls, sewing, embroidery, jewelry, copper enameling, airbrush, murals, refinishing and upholstering furniture, writing, and just about any crafty thing I come across. One new thing I tried recently is making a Pom-Pom rug. I love it. It’s time consuming, but isn’t most art?
This shop will take me a bit, I’ve a lot of on-line irons in the fire, if you just search 13thmuseart, a lot of things will come up. Each new thing takes a learning curve. I’d rather be painting!
