This blank journal is made with lined Royal Sundance paper by Neenah, bound with cork skin on the spine and fore-edges, handmade book cloth on the covers, and measures about 8.25 by 5.5 inches.
The paper is 70 lb text weight smooth in brilliant white and feels nice to write on, with just enough tooth that pencils would work nicely. There is a thin teal ribbon to keep your place with. You will get154 pages to sketch or write all your important thoughts on!
The endpapers are a turquoise, black, and gold marbled design with lovely shimmer. The spine is made from cork skin laid out in angular blocks for visual interest. The covers are made with batik quilt cotton, lined with sumi paper and wheat starch paste.
We tend to buy fabrics in small quantities, so some (most) of the cover designs may not be repeated. The binding style lets the journal lay flat when open, making the experience of writing and sketching that much more pleasant. Because of the stitching style, the spines have mildly raised bands, reminiscent of traditional bindings laced with heavy cords. The thread used in the stitching is linen polished with beeswax, so depending on your preferences it may or may not be considered vegan-friendly.

Meet the Maker
I'm a life-long hobby collector and idea explorer living in central Indiana. Over the years I dabbled in learning various foreign languages (and remember none), learned to play penny whistle, explored polymer clay, became proficient with counted thread embroidery, fell in love with being a beekeeper (8 years of fun!), dabbled with cold process soap making, pretended to be a gardener...The list is lengthy.
I started playing around with bookbinding in 2019 because I just had to have another hobby. I made lots of not-so-great ones and gave them away to family and friends, trying different types of bindings and materials until I got to the point where people were tired of receiving them! By then the pandemic had started, and my job had become untenable (oh the woes of the Essential Employee), so I quit the job and decided to open an Etsy shop, naming it Bound 2 Bee in honor of my bee colonies. That kept me busy while I job-hunted for a steady income (and health insurance!) and I had time to make lots of journals. After a couple of months of being unemployed, I found full-time employment and Etsy got relegated to hobby status.
Now it's 2024. I became allergic to beestings in 2022 and rehomed my bee colonies, and that leaves me a little more time to work on making journals and stationery items. The luster of Etsy is fading - and I've been looking for alternatives for my wee business, and stumbled on Goimagine. So, here I am! Let's give this a try and see if we can make life for kids a little better, hey?

Shipping
Your purchase will be sent within 3 days of receipt of payment.
I will ship to the address that appears on the order. If you need it to go elsewhere, please let me know at the time you place your order. If you do not provide me with a correct address within 24 hours, I will ship the item to the address on the order and will not replace it.
Shipping is via USPS Priority.
Returns
I do not accept returns. When I ship out an item, be assured it's made to the very best of my ability. What happens after I have handed it off to the USPS is not my responsibility.
