How it’s Made
Details:
Hand-crafted vitreous enamel on copper base
Organic Sgrafitto combined with high kiln temperatures create cellular patterns in ocean blue and lime green that are both random and intentional.
Approximately 1.75" x 1.25" curved organic rectangle shape with circle cutout
Sterling silver ear wires (hypoallergenic)
Lightweight copper construction for all-day comfort
Multiple kiln firings create rich depth and cellular texture
Each pair unique due to organic cell formation process
The Inspiration: These earrings were born from my fascination with microscopic worlds - coral polyps, cellular structures, and the incredible patterns found in marine life. The blue and green remind me of shallow tropical waters where sunlight filters through to illuminate the reef below. Each "cell" forms naturally during the enameling process, creating truly organic, unrepeatable patterns.
Care: Vitreous enamel is durable and glass-like. Clean gently with soft, dry cloth. Handle with care as enamel can chip if dropped on hard surfaces.
