About this Product

This round bodied stoneware mug was thrown on a potter's wheel and fired in a gas/salt kiln.  Deep blue glaze was applied by sprayer and the variegated surface is created by the atmosphere in the gas reduction kiln. A truly one of a kind mug!

  • Height:  4" tall

  • Width:  3.75" across

  • Capacity:  3 cups

As with all ceramic products this mug must be handled carefully. Although I hire-fire for added durability, potteriy is prone to cracks if dropped or knocked. Microwave and dishwasher safe, but gentle handwashing is recommended. Avoid temperature shock by heating things slowly, evenly and carefully

Meet the Maker

Hello!  My name is Linda Moeser and I like to play with clay

How it’s Made

Creamy white stoneware is formed ‘thrown’ on my potter’s wheel.  I form/pull a handle and attach it to the pot when the clay has reached a stiff ‘leatherhard’ stage.  Thumb rest and bottom embellishment is added.  When completely dry the mug is fired first to cone 06 (approximately 1830 degrees) in my electric kiln.  After completely cooled it is then glazed…sometimes dipped, sometimes brushed, occasionally sprayed, maybe all three!  Fired again to cone 6 (approximately 2,232 degrees)
