About this Product

The undeniable resilience of Spring. The electric green of new growth through the brambles. In the Spring, Nature meets again and we have the noble privilege of observing the bows of greeting. I'm waiting for a kind of societal Spring. Yearning I guess. One where we all reemerge and bow as neighbors.
So I made a friendly weaving for you. This gentle push to connect is two things: a thrifted oval picture frame that shows charming, organic blemishes and recycled, deconstructed fabrics.

This original woven wall hanging is built directly into the thrifted picture frame. I wanted the two, weaving and frame, to truly be joined. So I built a design to do that without the use of added hardware. A hanging fixture has been installed for your decorating ease.

Measures in at 21.5x17.5x1"

Your new weaving will be lovingly packed in recycled shipping materials. Free domestic shipping is included.

PS- This weaving was inspired in part by artworks from the musician Brambles. Ever just need to be in someone else's head? Brambles' is a really nice one to visit.

Meet the Maker

I am a trickster by nature,

Woolf-like.

Methodical.

Some days more fox-like.

Mischievous.

Creating a gentleness and fluidity between the ordinary and the unordinary

is what I strive to do in my making process.

Ethereal trickery, maybe.

The fruition of curiosity leads to a pause for contemplation.

For a moment of quiet focus.

A rest.

Let it begin with your eyes.

Artist stand on the edge of a shallow pond. Canvas shoes can be seen as can the rough reflection of the artist in the water along with light refracting against algae covered stones underwater

How it’s Made

Thrifted picture frame, measure out and drill holes, warp the frame/turn it into a loom using a method I designed, and weave away.

Care Instructions:

NEVER LINT ROLL YOUR WEAVING. IT'LL GET WEIRD. Instead, simply hold it by the frame/hoop and flip it over. Lightly pat the back of the weaving to shake out any dust that has collected. Carefully trim off any unwanted/ghastly shag. Feel free to kind of 'massage' the fibers in a strumming motion from the back to freshen it up a bit.
