How it’s Made
Creating an HTV T-shirt involves designing, cutting, and applying heat transfer vinyl (HTV) to fabric. The process begins with designing the artwork using graphic design software, ensuring the image is mirrored to transfer correctly. The design is then cut onto the HTV sheet using a vinyl cutting machine, with the shiny side facing down. After cutting, excess vinyl is carefully removed (weeded), leaving only the intended design. The T-shirt is preheated to eliminate moisture, and the HTV design is positioned adhesive-side down on the fabric. Using a heat press or iron, heat and pressure are applied to bond the vinyl to the shirt. After cooling slightly, the clear carrier sheet is peeled away, leaving the design securely adhered. For added durability, a second press may be performed. This method produces durable, vibrant, and customizable T-shirts, perfect for personalized or small-batch production.
