About this Product

Made to OrderChoice of colors.

Colors Shown:
Photos 1-2-3: Blue/Purple
Photos 4-5: Is a Custom Request with Shades of Blue for Flowers, along with Shades of Purple for the Hummingbird.

Your new stained glass sun catcher window art will be made in your choice of colors. Choose two colors, such as 'Blue/Purple' and I will create a butterfly with hummingbird and flower similar to seen in photos with a variety of pretty blue and purple/violet shades. Choose shades of a color, such as 'Shades of Blue' and I will make your butterfly with several shades and textures of blue (such as sky blue, cobalt blue, baby blue, royal blue, green-blue, textured blue etc). Other ideas? Simply include a note with your order! For instance if you'd like the flower and butterfly in shades of blue and turquoise, and the hummingbird in iridescent and purple, send me a note and I will make it happen for you!

Size, including hanger is approximately 20 inches long and 7-8 inches wide.

Details:
Size of butterfly is approximately 3-1/2 x 5-1/2 inches, not including antennae and hanger. Your hanger will include pretty glass beads in colors to complement the glass of the butterfly. The flower and hummingbird are slightly smaller. The flower features a pretty glass nugget in its center. The hummingbird has a beak made from solid wire, iridescent wings and tail in a textural glass that glimmers like the colors in a bubble!

Ready to hang! I recommend using something slightly more sturdy than a suction cup as those will eventually fall off the window due to changes in temperature, condensation on the window, etc.

A little about this piece shown: I made this one for my Mom! She mentioned that she'd like something for her window, and said she especially likes hummingbirds and butterflies. I was sketching some ideas and looking through some of my glass colors, keeping in mind colors she is especially fond of, and this design came about somewhat by accident. She loved it! It is shown hanging in her living room window in Chicago. I now have it at my own home because sadly, mom is no longer with us here on earth. Miss you mom!

I take great care in creating pieces that I love to design, and my goal is that you will find them gift-worthy, and/or be proud to own, display, and use them in your home or office. I carefully package them so they will arrive looking the same as when they left my shop.

Shipping costs are approximated as closely as possible using weight. If it costs less to ship to your location I am always quick to refund back to your account.

Meet the Maker

I've been a Stained Glass Artist for 2 decades now, and I put a lot of love into everything I make!

A little about me:

It all began with a dream...

I'd always loved the way light interacts with stained glass, and dreamed of learning how to make pieces of my own. I had the opportunity to take a class when I was attending Cal State University, Fullerton, where I learned the basics of cutting, grinding, and using lead came to create some simple windows. Working with stained glass was now in my blood and I taught myself the Copper Foil Method of Construction by reading books. Copper foil construction allows me to create a wide range of pieces in both 2 and 3 dimensions. These include hanging sun catchers, business card holders and more for your office, candle holders, vases, hanging mobiles, and much more! While I do have many popular designs that I have sold for many years, I love to create completely unique pieces as well!  I've been creating unique stained glass pieces for 2 decades and am thrilled to do custom orders; special color combinations or sizes to suit your needs. I've been approached to create completely new designs or sizes: for instance a large company asked me to created a bigger version of one of my business card holders to accommodate special cards; they ordered 43 of these in 2 color schemes to give as gifts to their employees! Another example: I once made almost 100 Peace signs for a customer who purchased them as special commemorative gifts at a memorial.

Custom orders begin with a need and an idea; together we can communicate to create a color scheme, pattern, size, and design to suit your specific needs.

I'm happy to include as much or as little of your input as you are comfortable with: I've found that some people want to give me some information and have me run with it, while others like to be very involved in all aspects of planning. It helps the process run more quickly if you'd like to browse through my shop and find colors and types of glass that you are drawn to.

My goal is to make pieces that are artistic, useful, very well made items that you are proud to own and display in your home, office or outdoor space! I sell many pieces that I can send directly to a gift recipient: Please include the correct shipping address at checkout and let me know what I can write on a note card. (Example: "Happy birthday Whitney! Love from your brother Nate"). I will have a gift-wrap option available at a nominal charge! I use a gift box to package the items; beautifully gift wrap with a selection of wrapping paper and add a pretty bow to finish it off; this package then goes into a larger, sturdy shipping box surrounded by bubble wrap to ensure safe delivery.

I'm very careful with my packaging, using sturdy boxes and plenty of bubble wrap so your special purchase arrives in the same condition it left my workshop.

Shop Policies

Welcome and thank you for visiting my shop!

Processing times:

In Stock items ship in as little as 1 or up to a few days. Many of my items are made to order, allowing you to choose your specific color choice or design. I do work on orders by the date received, so that the earliest orders can ship the soonest. Processing times are dependent on the item and the number of items ordered, and how many orders I currently have in my queue: normally it takes me between 2 and 10 days to complete a made-to-order item and get it to the Post Office. This doesn't include the actual time spent in transit. Please feel free to contact me if you have a specific timeline, if it is a gift for instance. I can give you a good idea of when I can complete your order! Like any online seller, I can't promise how long the post office will take to get it to you. However, in the 1000's of packages I've shipped over the years there have only been a handful of real issues with the delivery time.

Cancellations or Returns:

Please save your packaging materials.

I understand that at times you may need to change your mind and I am happy to work it out with you to the best of my ability.

To Cancel, please let me know within the first 24 hours and I can refund in full. Anytime after that, check in to inquire about options: If I haven't purchased material or started cutting the glass, I can happily refund in full. If I Have started, I will refund 50-70% of the total depending on how far along I am with the order. Custom orders however, are final.

Returns: Custom orders and sale items are final; No returns accepted! Anything else please contact me within 7 days for instructions. Give me a brief description of the reason for wanting to return the item. Using the packaging materials used in my shipping to you, please very carefully wrap each piece. If it's a card holder or other 3 dimensional piece, fill the inside with bubble wrap and surround it with more. You want to box to be full but not super tightly packed. It should not move around but should have just a little give. Try to keep the same amount of bubble wrap around each side of the glass (example, and inch above, below, and on the sides). If I receive your purchase back in the same unused condition as it left my shop I will refund minus the shipping costs. Customer is responsible for shipping charges both ways.

I appreciate your business!
