About this Product
February 1st dawns bright and clear,
Cailleach comes out to herd her deer
More wood for her hearth she seeks
To warm her home for six more weeks.
February 1st dawns stormy grey,
Cailleach sleeps the day away.
Her hearth glows warm with smoke curling,
She knows spring is coming early.
Blessed Winter
This is the second piece in my series Christmas Creatures and Yuletide Spirits. This print features Grandma Cailleach. Cailleach is the Goddess of Winter and the Wild. She herds deer, raises storms, and freezes the ground with her staff.
This is an 8.5x11 inch print, w/ 9x14 mat. All of my prints are created with archival ink and glossy photo paper. This is a limited edition, each print is hand numbered and signed. There will only be 50 of these. The original painting of Grandma Cailleach has sold.

Meet the Maker
Hello! I'm Kerry Mairie!
I'm an independent artist and illustrator hailing from the banks of the Delaware River. I love mythology, folklore, magic, and the cycles of nature.
How it’s Made
The original painting was hand-drawn and hand-painted in watercolor with colored pencil and ink details. These prints are produced in my home studio with archival ink on glossy photo paper. Each print is signed and individually numbered out of the run of 50. I am making 30 of them available online. Prints come matted in black with a backing board and a protective sleeve.
