About this Product

Celebrate the location of your marriage proposal,  a special vacation, or your friend's new home by having me carve it into some iron.

My map pans use 9 inch Valor commercial iron skillets. I have used Lodge pans in the past, but find Valor to have a more consistent color of iron inside.

Each pan is engraved by me in my glorious basement. After engraving, the pans are sealed with a food safe wax to prevent rusting. (I would recommend using the map pans for decorative purposes though. Cleaning all of the streets would require more than a lot of elbow grease.)

In the personalization box, please answer
A. The address that you want to have in the center of your pan.  I usually try to display roughly 2 miles on the map.
B. The personalization engraved at the bottom of the map. (ex. Nancy & Mark New Orleans 2022) I usually use the font "Brillion" which can be seen on the New Orleans pan shown above. If you would like a specific other font, please contact me first.

If you have a custom request that goes beyond what could be described in the personalization field, please contact me. If you need something quick, reach out with your idea and I can let you know how fast I can send it out.

Meet the Maker

I've enjoyed making and crafting my whole life. I teach high school photo, video, and sculpture. After a couple of duds trying to sell products on other "handmade" websites, these customized pans seem to have some interest behind them. I hope you enjoy my wares. :D

How it’s Made

When I receive your personalization info, I first find the location using mapping software. Then I convert that to vectors and add in any additional text you have chosen. Then its off to the basement to engrave that into a pan. After that, its off to the kitchen to heat and wax the engraved surface. Once cool, it's packing time!
