The original knotwork design for this wood-burned plate was influenced by the beautiful symbolic Celtic art from places like Ireland. The daffodil is the symbolic flower of Wales, a beautiful country steeped in Celtic lore.
A one-of-a-kind design featuring a mandala-like daffodil design framed in a circular knotwork border was hand-drawn and wood-burned onto a basswood plate.

Welcome to Di's Studio Designs! My name is Diane, Di for short. My shop specializes in nature-inspired, whimsical faux floral designs, faux floral candle holders, fairy houses and designs, and Celtic-inspired wood-burned art. How it’s Made
A personally designed hand drawing with a Celtic theme was drawn on paper, then traced onto an unfinished 11.5” diameter plate, and then painstakingly wood burned.
The drawing consists of a daffodil surrounded by intricate vine and leaf knotwork.
Two coats of low VOC varnish were applied to the front and back of the finished plate to preserve the art and protect the plate.
