Meet the Maker

I am a Social Worker by day and DIY'ER and Crafter by night and weekends. I started crafting as a way to show my love and appreciation for others through handmade gifts for Birthdays, Christmas, Anniversaries and other holidays and occasions. What started out as a hobby and interest has now turned into newly established business and love for creating. I mainly focus on beaded and sublimated items such as bracelets, keychains, badge reels, pens, necklaces, t-shirts, mugs, tumblers, mouse pads, and totes. As time goes on and business picks up I hope to incorporate other crafts and items.

At Showme Sunflower Creations, I pour my heart and soul into handcrafting each unique item. My passion for creating beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces is matched only by my commitment to quality and attention to detail. Every bead is carefully selected, and every design is thoughtfully crafted to ensure that my creations not only add a touch of elegance to your style but also reflect the uniqueness of your personality. With a focus on creativity and a dedication to excellence, I strive to bring joy and confidence to each person who wears my handmade treasures. Join me in celebrating individuality and embracing the beauty of handcrafted artistry.

How it’s Made

Materials Needed:

  • 8mm red glass beads

  • 8mm yellow glass beads

  • White flat rondel spacer beads

  • 0.7mm clear elastic stretch cord

  • E6000 glue (for securing the knot)

  • Scissors

  • Measuring tape

  • Beading needle (optional)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Measure and Cut the Elastic Cord

  • Measure your wrist or the wrist size for the bracelet. Standard sizes are around 6-7 inches.

  • Cut a piece of 0.7mm clear elastic stretch cord approximately 4-6 inches longer than your wrist measurement. This will give you extra cord for tying the knot.

2. String the Red, Yellow, and White Beads

  • Begin threading the red glass beads, yellow glass beads, and white flat rondel spacer beads onto the stretch cord.

  • You can create a pattern, such as alternating 2 red beads, 1 white spacer bead, 2 yellow beads, then 1 white spacer bead. Feel free to experiment with different patterns to suit your style.

  • Use a beading needle if needed to make threading easier, but threading by hand works as well.

3. Continue the Beading Pattern

  • Keep repeating the red, yellow, and white bead pattern until you’ve strung enough beads for your desired bracelet length.

  • Be sure to leave a bit of stretch so that it fits comfortably around your wrist without being too tight.

4. Check the Fit

  • Before tying the bracelet, wrap it around your wrist to ensure a snug fit. Adjust the beads if necessary.

5. Tie the Bracelet

  • Once you’re satisfied with the length, tie a surgeon’s knot to secure the bracelet:

    1. Cross the two ends of the elastic and tie a basic overhand knot.

    2. For extra security, tie another overhand knot, passing one end through the loop twice before tightening.

    3. Gently pull both ends of the cord to secure the knot tightly without overstretching the cord.

6. Apply E6000 Glue to the Knot

  • Dab a small amount of E6000 glue onto the knot to ensure it stays secure with regular wear.

  • Let the glue dry fully (according to the glue instructions) before trimming the excess cord.

7. Trim the Excess Cord

  • Once the glue has dried, carefully trim the extra elastic close to the knot, leaving a tiny bit of cord without cutting into the knot.

  • If possible, slide a nearby bead over the knot to hide it.

8. Finish and Wear

  • Double-check that the knot is secure, and that the beads are evenly spaced.

  • Your KC Chiefs-inspired bracelet is now complete and ready to show off your team pride!
