A fleece wheelchair poncho can simplify winter outings for kids in wheelchairs. Many times, getting into and out of a winter coat is difficult for our little ones who are confined to wheelchairs.
Our wheelchair ponchos are made with two layers of anti pill fleece and are designed for warmth, comfort, and convenience. The poncho can be draped over the back of the wheelchair or tucked behind the wearer. Choose a full length back or cropped back poncho depending on your preference and your child's wheelchair.
You will appreciate the two way zipper in this poncho that can be opened from the top and bottom. This allows the wearer to adjust his or her comfort level without having to completely remove the poncho. Each poncho with a full length back has arm snaps to create a kind of sleeve if that is preferred. Arm snaps are not included on cropped back ponchos unless requested. (Hand slits can be added at no extra cost, but are not standard on wheelchair ponchos.)
If you live in a colder climate, choose an extra warm poncho for your child. An extra warm poncho has a layer of 100% cotton quilt batting sewn to the inside of the lining. This extra layer adds a lot of warmth with little bulk. An extra warm poncho is comparable to a winter coat.

Ponchos are available with or without a generous sized hood. Ponchos without hoods will be finished with a neck band. If you'd like a detachable hood, you can choose that style from the drop down menu when placing your order.

Your poncho will be made in my smoke-free, pet-free sewing studio. All of my items meet CPSC safety requirements.

Taking care of our children is a top priority for busy parents and grandparents. I'm here to help you do that with my ponchos that provide a convenient alternative to winter coats for kids in car seats and wheelchairs.
In 2015, my business flourished locally and online when, after traveling with my own granddaughter riding in her car seat without a winter coat, I began selling children's car seat ponchos.
As a grandparent myself, I appreciate the convenience of ponchos with two way zippers and hand slits. In addition to ponchos with hoods, I also offer ponchos without hoods and ponchos with detachable hoods. I have added a listing to my shop for big kids ponchos for older or taller kids who still want to be cozy and warm and wrapped in love!
In 2018, I expanded my business with ponchos for children and adults in wheelchairs. My wheelchair ponchos (available in regular or luxury fleece) make travel easier for people who have trouble getting in and out of a winter coat. This style poncho will work well for older children and adults in general.
I readily admit that it is God who blessed me with my talent for working with patterns and fabrics, and I thank Him daily for the opportunity that He's given me to use my gifts in building this business while helping people care for those they love.
All of my children's items comply with CPSC regulations. All of my items are made in my smoke free, pet free home studio.

Care instructions
Ponchos and hats are machine washable in cold water, gentle cycle. Tumble dry on low or lay flat to dry. No bleach, no iron.
Sizing details
All product measurements are included in each listing description. When ordering a poncho, the most important measurement is the length. My general advice is this, "When in doubt, size up!"
Custom ponchos cannot be exchanged for a different size! Please message me before ordering (or within 24 hours of placing your order) if you want to discuss poncho sizing.

Should I buy an extra warm poncho?
Our extra warm ponchos have a layer of quilt batting sewn between the two layers of fleece. This extra layer provides a lot of extra warmth without adding a lot of extra bulk.
Extra warm ponchos are quite popular among customers in the northern and western United States and Canada.
Here are some things to consider when choosing regular or extra warm:
~Will your car be warm when you put your child in his/her car seat?
~Do you plan to wear the poncho on your child only in the car or for other outdoor activities?
~Does your child tend to get too warm quickly or does your child mind the cold?

What is a custom or personalized order?
A custom order is any item that you customize by choosing the size, fabric, and style. Keep in mind that custom orders are not returnable. Exchanges are allowed only under certain circumstances. For hygiene reasons, we do NOT accept returns on hat orders. If you have questions about your order and whether or not it is eligible for return or exchange, please contact us.

Do you sell products made from licensed fabrics (like Disney, John Deere, etc.)
Unfortunately, because of copyright issues, we don't sell items made with licensed fabrics. This is always confusing for shoppers because many shop owners do sell licensed fabric items. In some instances, online shops have been closed down for copyright infringement, and we've decided not to risk it. We are happy to work with you on an order using any of the fabrics that we have in stock.
Will you add a few inches of length to my car seat poncho?
Because my car seat poncho is circular, I am not able to customize the lengths of the ponchos. If you would like a longer poncho, the best thing to do is to buy a larger size. If you are planning to order a size 6 poncho and would like a longer length, I recommend ordering a junior size poncho (older kid's poncho). These ponchos for older/taller children are shaped differently, but will still work in a car seat. Because of the difference in design, the junior size poncho and wheelchair poncho lengths can be customized.
