Chinese Writing Stone designer cabochon trio. A beautiful black & white freeform gemstone set, perfect for your jewelry designs. Chinese Writing Stone or Chinese Writing Rock is named for its interesting shapes of Feldspar crystals in black Basalt. It was found while cutting a highway in Auburn, California. Only a relatively small amount was recovered before the highway was finished. This material has not been mined in 25 +/_ years and as such is becoming very rare.
